Lost To The Men's Room

- Kathy Cash Tittle

Hendersonville Walmart was VERY used to seeing us come in. They always greeted dad and me with kindness and seemed protective of Dad.

Sometimes shoppers would follow us around and watch dad, but most of the time, they left him alone.
Just a "Hello Mr cash, nice to see you", or something like that
If we went to Sam's..it was different..he usually got mobbed, but he didn't care. He was in his little motorized shopping basket and was hilarious. I remember once losing dad...I asked the manager if he had seen him, and some man that had been following us said, "He's in the rest room. Should I go check on him?"
SWEET.....

I asked the man to act like he was just using the facilities, but to please make sure he hadn't fallen or something.

When Dad came out, I said, "DAD! You ditched me!"
DAD.."sorry Honey, had to pee. It's a long drive over to the men's room."
LOL.....

When we'd go to the antique shops, they were also used to seeing him and always greeted him warmly.

If we went to Dairy Queen or something, I was driving, he was in the passenger seat...people couldn't see him from the drive up window.
