Presents

I just thought of a funny JUNE story...had to do with presents, so I thought I'd post it.

June went shopping A LOT. One day I was over there, and June had just gotten back from shopping.
Dad turned into a little boy whenever June would go without him, so that day all these packages are being brought into the house and Dad says, "June, what did you get me? Surely with all these bags, there's a present for me in there."

Well evidentally, she had been to a linen and woman's clothing sale, so June gave me one of those "uhoh" looks and started trying to improvise.

All the bags were on the bed, and she was clearly looking for something that would suffice as a "daddy present."

"Oh John, here are your presents." he got a big smile on his face and said, "okay, I'm ready."

She told him to close his eyes. She put a hat on him, a scarf and a fleece throw.
"okay John, open your eyes."

She brought Dad a mirror out of her bathroom and he started looking at what was on his head, and around his neck.
The hat was green velvet...lovely but clearly NOT a man's hat, the scarf was black & red checkered and the throw was yellow chenille.

Dad choking back laughter said, "baby...thanks so much for thinking of me. You were SO sweet to buy me these things, I think I'll just let you borrow them."

June said, "well John thank you honey, but I REALLY was thinking of you today.I really was. I just didn't know exactly what you wanted."

Dad couldn't stand it anymore..he got to laughing and said, well, I always wanted a green velvet hat, so you got that part right."

We all just broke down...couldn't handle it any more.
